What a Wonderful World!

I'm just singing along with my playlist this morning! I found a site that let me create a playlist for free and post here on my site! Check it out to the right and down.
So my morning started out slow & painful, but it's amazing what my favorite music and a free sample of coffee can do to lift my spirits! That free coffee is available to you too! Just click on the “Like” button on the Joe Ragan’s Coffee and Office Supplies Facebook Page and it'll be on it's way. I found this tip on Money Saving Mom.
I wanted to share some ideas today that I found while scrounging the web for leftover ideas. This particular one was perfect for my family. I wonder how many others have this problem? Leftover hamburger and hot dog buns. It never fails. As grill season gets into full swing I can guarantee I will be staring at extra buns! So, here are some nifty ways to use them up! Some seemed like common sense to me...but others? Enjoy!

What to Do with Leftover Hot Dog and Hamburger Buns
Bread Crumbs
These are a bit obvious perhaps but if you’ve not made your own before, here’s how. Let them air dry a bit or speed them up in a low oven. Then grind them up in your blender or food processor. Freeze them in a freezer bag and you can easily pull out just what you need later.
Croutons
Nearly as obvious but still…. Cube them and toss with some olive oil and the seasonings of your choices. Garlic powder and parsley are a good start. Cook them in a moderate or low oven until lightly browned.
Bread Pudding
Anything you can do with leftover bread,  you can do with leftover hamburger and hot dog buns.
Sloppy Joes, Meatball Subs, Tuna Melts, etc.
Make your favorite “food on bread” recipe but use your leftover hot dog or hamburger buns instead of whatever you normally use.   Make your own melts at home.  Smaller sized buns are perfect for smaller appetites rather than wasting a whole french roll. Any kind of sandwich works. If you have kids and pack lunches, just pack their favorite sandwich on a bun for a nice change.
Garlic Bread
Mix some butter with minced garlic, spread on the bread of choice and broil. Or, spread with butter (or margarine), sprinkle with garlic powder and broil. Sprinkle with some grated cheese first if you like.
French Toast
Cut into sticks and make French toast sticks with them using your favorite recipe.
